Successes to Celebrate

Legislative Services (2)

Legislative improvements over the past year have been focused on strengthening two core areas: Strategic Planning and Communications.

Strategic Planning

In 2014, to improve our understanding of the County’s vision and mission, a survey was conducted both inside and outside the organization. Although participation was not as extensive as hoped, the information gathered became the foundation for the review of these statements.

Following the review of the vision and mission statements, a consultant was retained to assist Council and Administration in the development of an initial strategy document. This formal public plan continues to develop as a key guiding document for the County.

Each year, Council and invited Administration sit down to review and update the County’s strategic plan. The goal is that a revised strategic document be available to Administration for the development of the budget. This allows the budget to be tailored to the strategic direction provided by Council.

Municipal Communications Consultant Rdeca Group was retained by the County in 2016 to assist with Council's priority of improving communications in all respects, across County operations.

Rdeca Group has since played an active role in website redesign, social media management, logo redevelopment, and the design and development of internal and external publications, including weekly publication in the Lac Ste. Anne Bulletin.

The annual activity report is produced and sent to each property owner in Lac Ste. Anne County each year. This comprehensive document covers topics from department updates to financial reporting.
