Red Ribbon Community Cleanup

During the summer and fall of 2021 the County took steps to enhance the communities of Rochfort Bridge, Greencourt and Sangudo. This initiative provided an opportunity for residents to have yard waste, unneeded items and unsightly materials removed from their properties at no cost.

Outcomes included improved safety, increased attraction to newcomers, and enhanced purpose, functionality and cleanliness.

2021 Red Ribbon Campign Details

The County promoted its Red Ribbon Commulity Cleanup campaign to the communities of Greencourt, Rochfort Bridge and Sangudo during the summer and fall months of 2021. Residents of these hamlets were encouraged to tie a red ribbon to a visible spot on their property as a signal that they wished their yards to be included.

The County provided labour resources, dump bins and skid steers, spending about a week in each community. Cleanup crews entered participating yards (residences were off limits) and removed unwanted objects and materials.

Duting the Red Ribbon Cleanup campaignmm the County provided the following serrvices and resources free of charge to participating residents:

  • Dump bins

  • Manpower

  • Skid steers

  • Removal of vehicles and other large items

50 TONNES REMOVED IN 2021

During its 2021 Red Ribbon campaign, County crews removed more than 50,000 kilograms of yard waste from hamlets like Greencourt and Sangudo. Included in the haul were more that a thousand tires!

The County thanks the landowners who participated in this impactful community cleanup initiative.
