Guidance and Direction for County Growth
The County's strategic plan was developed by County Council in consultation with senior administrators, stakeholders and the community at large. The foundation of Council’s strategic plan rests upon the vision, mission, and values of Lac Ste. Anne County:
Our Vision
Lac Ste. Anne County is prosperous, progressive, and collaborative, building on our strong sense of community and our agricultural roots, and providing a diverse range of opportunities.
Our Mission
Lac Ste. Anne County acts in the best interests of the County as a whole to create a positive environment for economic growth, citizen and community engagement, and the provision of services and sustainable infrastructure.
Our Values
At Lac Ste. Anne County, our decisions are guided by:
- Accountability
- Transparency
- Collaboration
- Trust
- Respect
- Integrity
- Diversity
- Sustainability
In 2021, County Council and senior leadership met to consider a future direction for the County and build a framework for its strategic plan.
Core objectives were to articulate a shared vision for Lac Ste. Anne County; and to define the components of a strategic plan that would provide guidance to development of operational plans. The strategic planning horizon is for the next three to five years, with business plan goals extending three years, and operational plan objectives to guide the work of staff for one year.
Scope and Outcomes
All participants agreed that the County had a strong organizational foundation that is operating well. While there were some lingering issues that needed to be addressed and brought to a conclusion, maintaining a consistent focus on a set of clear longer-term priorities would enable the County to achieve considerably more over the next five years.
The Strategic Plan defines objectives and outcomes that are distinct from the County's standard operational tasks. Because activities like budgeting and capital planning are undertaken during the regular course of work, there is no distinct outcome or completion point to these activities.
