4-H Alberta

Being a part of 4-H means being part of a club and a community. It can even feel like being part of a big family. 4-H has been a part of Canada for over a century. Today’s 4-H program includes many exciting projects and gives urban and rural youth and adults life-long skills such as co-operation, leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, organization, public speaking, and community service.

Agriculture More than Ever

Ag More Than Ever engages in positive dialogue around Canadian agriculture and food, and creates trust between producers and consumers. It is an industry-driven cause made up of hundreds of partners and thousands of advocates from across the country, all committed to improving perceptions and dispelling myths about Canadian agriculture.

Alberta Fire Bans

The Alberta Fire Bans website provides information on active fire advisories, fire restrictions, fire bans, OHV restrictions, and forest area closures across Alberta. Supported by participating community members, Fire Chiefs and municipal Administrators are able to post their alerts to the website so the most current and reliable information is always available to the public.

Alberta Fire Chiefs Association

The mission of the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association is to promote, support and facilitate fire protection and related emergency services. An AFCA membership offers the opportunity for individuals to become part of a network of members across Canada who share expertise on a wide variety of fire service-related issues.

Alberta Fire Training Officers Association

The Alberta Fire Training Officers Association is a group of like-minded fire instructors, dedicated to gathering innovative and up-to-date information on training standards and providing this information to fire departments so they may effectively and safely train their members.

ALUS

ALUS is a community-developed and farmer-delivered program that supports ecosystem services on agricultural land. The ALUS program is a scalable, turn-key solution developed at the community level that engages farmers and ranchers in creating, restoring and enhancing new acres of nature to respond to local environmental challenges, help build community resilience and fight climate change and biodiversity loss.

ALUS has funding that may be able to help you establish environmentally sustainable projects on your land. ALUS also provides an annual payment for project management and maintenance.

Darwell Ag Society

The Darwell Ag Society is part of Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies; a non-profit, non-governmental, provincial association that advocates and provides resources for the 293 Agricultural Societies in Alberta.­­ The objective of the society is to encourage improvement in agriculture and enhanced quality of life for persons living in the community by developing educational programs, events, services and facilities.

Do More Agriculture Foundation

The Do More Agriculture Foundation is the national voice and champion for mental health in Canadian agriculture, and is changing the culture of agriculture to one where all producers are encouraged, supported, and empowered to take care of their mental wellbeing. Producers are among the most vulnerable when it comes to mental health issues.

Farming Forward

Farming Forward is a non-profit, membership based, producer driven, agricultural research and extension organization that serves forage and livestock producers in the west-central region of Alberta. The association demonstrates new ag technology and production practices through extension activities, applied research and demonstration, and knowledge sharing.

Gateway Research Organization

Gateway Research Organization is a non-profit applied research association based out of Westlock Alberta. They provide cost-effective applied agricultural research, demonstrations and extension for producers, facilitating greater returns to farms by providing economically and scientifically sound information that enables people to make informed decisions.

Lake Isle & Lac Ste Anne Water Quality Management Society (LILSA)

Lake Isle & Lac Ste Anne Water Quality Management Society is a non-profit society committed to promoting the preservation of Lake Isle and Lac Ste. Anne Lake. Run entirely by volunteers, the society undertakes many different projects to maintain and improve the quality of water in the region's lakes.
