Community Sports
Seasonal pastimes that connect our communities
There are plenty of sports activities to enjoy in the County — minor softball being one of the most popular.
The County's minor softball league is successful in large part due to the many volunteers that donate their time for youth in their communities. Kudos to the league commissioner, community representatives, coaches, managers and umpires.
The County's Community Services department provides in-kind administrative support to the league which includes creating game and tournament schedules, reviewing team rosters, organizing meetings and general coordination. Age categories include:
- U5 for players born in 2021, 2022, 2023 (No formal games scheduled)
- U7 for players born in 2018*, 2019, 2020 (some communities accept younger participants)
- U9 for players born in 2017*, 2018*
- U11 for players born in 2015, 2016, 2017*
- U13 for players born in 2013, 2014
- U15 for players born in 2011, 2012
- U18 for players born in 2008, 2009, 2010
*Age overlap within the U7/U9/U11 categories allows for flexibility based on each player’s previous experience. Category placement for overlap is at the discretion of each community.
