About George

George was born, raised and educated in the Onoway area, leaving briefly for a journeyman apprenticeship at Red Deer College. George has lived in the Rich Valley area for close to half a century. He met his wife Brenda in Rich Valley in 1972, and together they have raised three sons and seven grandchildren who also call Lac Ste. Anne County home.

George has earned his living primarily in the Lac Ste. Anne region. Roles ranged from gravel truck driver and sprinkler fitter to owner/operator of the Imperial Oil Bulk Station in Onoway, He spent ten years with the Department of Highways from Glenevis, 20 years in various roles in the oilfield sector, and three years in the Northwest Territories driving a water truck.

The Boy Scouts organization has played a founding role in George's life; both as a young man and later as an adult leader. Over the years, he has also volunteered his time and energy to the Rich Valley Agricultural Society, Rich Valley Historical Society and Onoway Lions Club.

A strong advocate for honesty, accountability and transparency, George listens to — and actively engages — the ratepayers of Lac Ste. Anne County at every opportunity.
