Alberta Transportation experiences delays in repairs to bridge on Highway 777.
The County has received an update from Alberta Transportation regarding Bridge BF 07484 over the Sturgeon River on Highway 777 north of Onoway.
Earlier this year Alberta Transportation began repair work on Bridge BF 07484. While completing the planned repairs they found damage to the girders that was not repairable.
Unfortunately, due to a backlog in replacement girders fabrication, the project has experienced delays. The girders have been fabricated and are currently under curing process before being shipped. Preparation work to pull the girder on the closed lane will commence shortly. The next task will then include re-pouring the concrete deck, then switching sides where the same process will take place.
Traffic Impacts
As with any construction project, travellers will experience speed reductions and delays. On-site construction requires single lane traffic controlled by traffic signals. Please watch for and obey all construction zone signage. An end date for this construction is unknown.
