Rural Roots Farmer Showcase

An annual celebration of local-source culinary excellence

Held every August since 2019, Rural Roots Farmer Showcase gives folks an opportunity to experience exceptional food and gain a better understanding of where their food comes from. This event highlights local food producers by bringing them together at the perfect venue: the George Pegg Botanic Garden.

Rural Roots Farmer Showcase

An annual celebration of local-source culinary excellence

It all Began Just a Few Years Back

The inaugural Rural Roots Farmer Showcase was hosted at the George Pegg Botanic Garden on Saturday, August 17, 2019. It was an instant hit, and has quickly become one of the most anticipated summer events in Lac Ste. Anne County.

Considering the consistently soggy summer, hosting the first Rural Roots Farmer Showcase and Farm-to-Fork Dinner was a gamble – but one that certainly paid off.
The weather behaved, the people showed up and the family-friendly, food-focused event got underway without a hitch. Local producers represented their farms and displayed their ultra-fresh goods to a sold-out crowd.
