Councillor Ed Gifford brings deep local roots and decades of service to the community to his role on Council. Raised on a family farm in Cherill area, he has spent his life, working, volunteering, and raising his family in the region. He currently resides on an acreage north of Cherhill.

Councillor Gifford has dedicated over 30 years of service to Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services, including serving as District Fire Chief and Instructor — supporting emergency response and public safety. He also brings extensive experience in the oilfield, construction, commercial, and logging industries, and when not serving on Council works as Operations Manager for Platinum Fuels Ltd. in Whitecourt.

With a lifelong connection to the region and hands-on leadership experience, Ed brings a practical, community-focussed perspective to Council, striving to support responsible growth, enhance safety, and represent interests of residents across the region.
