Lac Ste. Anne County is moving full speed ahead with three key culvert replacement projects this summer—vital infrastructure upgrades that will strengthen rural roadways, support local transportation, and improve long-term drainage and safety.

“These are exciting projects,” said Brian Hartman, County General Manager of Infrastructure. “Each project reflects our commitment to delivering safe, resilient, and well-maintained bridges that serve the needs of residents, farmers, and businesses alike.”

To ensure the safety of workers and road users while work is underway, residents and motorists are advised to plan ahead, follow posted detour signage, and allow extra travel time.

The upcoming projects are as follows:

• Project BF 13469 Rochfort Bridge Area TWP RD 572 — Culvert Replacement with Road Closure

This culvert replacement will necessitate a road closure from approximately July 31 to August 18. Barricades and signage will be posted to guide local traffic safely around the site. Area residents and motorists may detour utilizing HWY 43, and RGE RD 82 or RGE RD 83 to bypass the project.

• Project BF 71758 Majeau Lake Area RGE RD 34 — Culvert Replacement without Road Closure

Construction is taking place for a couple of weeks beginning in August. This culvert replacement will be completed with a 4.0 m width lane restriction in effect. Minimal disruption is anticipated, though drivers should watch for crews and reduced speed zones in the work area.

• Project BF 08775 northeast of Onoway RGE RD 20 — Culvert Replacement with Road Closure

Work on this culvert is also expected to result in a full road closure for approximately three weeks sometime in August. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and follow designated detour routes. Area residents and motorists may detour utilizing HWY 642/TWP RD 560 and HWY 777.

These projects are part of the County’s broader strategy to invest in core infrastructure and enhance long-term road reliability across the region. While some temporary inconvenience is to be expected, the benefits will be well worth it—including smoother travel, public safety, and transportation efficiency along rural roadways.

The County thanks all residents and travellers for their patience and cooperation during this construction season. To stay up to date on road closures and project timelines, visit LSAC.ca or follow @LSACounty on social media.
