The Planning & Development team is updating its permit fee collection process.

To improve efficiency, the County has transitioned the administration and payment of safety code fees to our accredited industry partner, Superior Safety Codes.

How Payments Work Now

When applying for a permit, please be aware that your total costs may be split between two separate entities:

  • County Development Fees: Upon submission, the Planning & Development team will notify you of any fees or levies owed directly to the County (e.g., Development Permit fees). These remain payable to the County office.
  • Safety Code Fees: For Building, Private Sewage, Electrical, Plumbing, and Gas permits, the safety code fee portion is now handled exclusively by Superior Safety Codes. Once they receive your application, Superior will review it and contact you directly to collect payment.

Submission Options

You may still submit your completed application packages (including Safety Code forms) to the County office in person or via email. We will continue to forward these to Superior on your behalf as a courtesy. However, please remember that the County can no longer accept payment for the Safety Code portion of your project.

Contact Information

For questions regarding safety code inspections or fee schedules, please contact Superior Safety Codes directly or visit their website. For all other development inquiries, please contact the County's Planning & Development team.
