With the 2025 Municipal Election underway, campaign signs are appearing across our community — a visible part of the democratic process. These signs help candidates share their message and help voters make informed choices.

The County reminds everyone that election signs are private property and protected under law. Damaging, removing, or tampering with a candidate’s sign—even as a prank—is considered vandalism and may result in fines or charges under the Local Authorities Election Act or the Criminal Code.

Please respect all signs, regardless of whose name is on them. Let’s prove that our community values fairness, respect, and civic pride as we head into this election.

If you notice a damaged or misplaced sign, please contact the candidate rather than trying to move it yourself. Candidate contact information is available on our website or by contacting our Returning Officer Reanne Springer.

Together, we can help keep our community safe, respectful, and election-ready.
