But even the best-planned gathering needs an audience. To bridge the gap between organizers and attendees, the County hosts a user-generated Community Calendar on its website.
The term "user-generated" simply means that the content is built by community members. The events you see are posted primarily by the neighbours and local groups hosting them, not just the County Administration Office.
This interactive tool is designed to be a one-stop shop for Lac Ste. Anne County residents, business owners, and visitors looking to see what’s happening in their own backyard.
Is Your Event a Good Fit?
While the County welcomes a diverse range of activities, there are a few ground rules to ensure the calendar remains a high-quality resource for everyone. To be eligible for inclusion, your submission must meet the following criteria:
- Strictly Local: Events must be hosted within the boundaries of—or be relevant to—Lac Ste. Anne County communities
- Regional Interest: Initiatives that support regional public-interest goals (like a horticulture webinar) are encouraged
- Compliance: All submissions must adhere to the terms of use for the Community Calendar
How the Process Works
Submitting an event is straightforward, but it doesn't post instantly. To maintain the integrity of the platform, the County reviews every submission before it goes live.
- Submit: Head to LSAC.ca/myevent and fill out the details of your upcoming event.
- Review: County staff will review the entry for compliance with the terms of use (usually within a day or so).
- Publish: Once approved, your event is added to the County Calendar for the public to see.
A Note on Moderation
To keep the calendar focused and relevant, the County reserves the right to choose which events appear. Decisions to add, remove, or deny any posting are made at the sole discretion of the County to ensure the best experience for all users.
