Our very own County Fire Chief Randy Schroeder was recently awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal and was appointed as Vice Chair of the National Advisory Council. The Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall in Ottawa administers the medal.

This medal is awarded to those who have contributed significantly to Canada, or to a particular province, territory, region, or community in Canada. It is not only a mark of personal accomplishment but also a testament to the recipient’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of others and upholding the values that Canada holds dear.

“I was truly surprised and honoured to be a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal. It is humbling to receive recognition from respected peers across the nation for my volunteer work on behalf of the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association and the National Advisory Council. All work I do with these organizations is intended to have a direct benefit to Fire Services in Lac Ste Anne County and the region, our valued responders, and the citizens I have served for almost 30 years. Thank you to County Council for your continued support of my efforts in these organizations”
