Members of our local minor softball teams took in an exciting Edmonton Oil Kings game on November 2. Their visit was part of the Oil King’s Softball Night, which celebrates and connects youth athletes from across the region.

Players from teams in Alberta Beach, Darwell, Onoway, Rich Valley, and Sangudo were treated to a memorable afternoon of high-energy hockey, team spirit, and community fun inside Roger Place. The group took part as the Honour Guard (even getting on the big screen!) at the start of the game, and then in the High Five Tunnel at the start of the second period.

“This was such a great experience for our teams,” said the County’s Community Services Manager, Donna Kerr. “It’s always special when young athletes get to see the excitement of professional sports and be recognized for their own hard work and dedication.”

What a great day! Everyone had a ton of fun, and the Oil Kings capped it off with a win. Thank you to all the families that joined in the event—and to the Oil Kings for inviting us to be part of such a fantastic experience!
