Lac Ste. Anne County Continuing Support for STARS
Lac Ste. Anne County is proud to announce its commitment to supporting STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service) by contributing $2 per capita in annual funding. This investment reflects the County’s dedication to ensuring rapid emergency medical transport remains available for residents and visitors in times of crisis.
Lac Ste. Anne County has been a supporting partner of STARS since 2008 and a Municipal Partner—donating $1 per capita since 2018. This year’s contribution brings the total lifetime contribution to over $100,000 for this vital service.
“This is about peace of mind for our residents, knowing that if the unthinkable happens, expert medical help is available.”
“Our Council believes that supporting STARS is one of the best investments we can make in community safety,” commented County Reeve, Joe Blakeman. “This is about peace of mind for our residents, knowing that if the unthinkable happens, expert medical help is available.”
For decades STARS, a non-profit air ambulance service, has provided emergency medical transportation across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. With base locations in Grande Prairie, Edmonton, and Calgary; STARS has played a crucial role in Alberta’s emergency response system, providing lifesaving medical care and swift transport to hospital for critically ill and injured patients. For rural and remote communities like ours, having access to this service is essential.
By investing in STARS, the County is taking a proactive approach to protecting its residents and reinforcing emergency preparedness.
