In a move to strengthen regional safety and collaboration, Lac Ste. Anne County and the Summer Village of Sunset Point have formalized a 10-year agreement for shared fire dispatch services, beginning in March 2025. This agreement reflects a commitment to providing robust, sustainable, and cost-effective emergency response services.

A third-party review conducted by Transitional Solutions Inc. highlighted the significant benefits of this partnership. The report praised Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services (LSACFS) for its operational readiness, adherence to national fire safety standards, and ability to deliver an effective response force with depth and reliability.

Key Benefits of the Agreement:

  1. Enhanced Emergency Response: LSACFS provides access to six stations, mutual aid agreements, and professionally trained responders who meet or exceed National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
  2. Sustainability and Resilience: With long-term capital and operational plans, LSACFS ensures readiness for both routine and large-scale emergencies.
  3. Community-Centric Services: Programs such as FireSmart property assessments, fire inspections, and safety education underscore LSACFS’s dedication to public safety.
  4. Cost Efficiency: A single, all-inclusive fee simplifies financial planning while delivering high-quality fire services.
  5. Increased Level of Service: This agreement will allow for increased Water Rescue Capabilities with the County Water Rescue unit being located within Sunset Point. Increasing the overall safety of the Lake.
