Due to the limited moisture received in most areas of Lac Ste. Anne County, the fire hazard conditions in light and medium fuels have increased and continue to rise.

This FIRE RESTRICTION PROHIBITS:

This FIRE RESTRICTION ALLOWS:

  • Pellet smokers or other enclosed outdoor wood-fired appliances
  • Gas/propane stoves, fire pits, and barbeques
  • Indoor wood fireplace or another designed device (incinerators, etc)
  • Open flame oil devices

A SAFE fire under this restriction is a CONTINUOUSLY monitored fire of LIMITED size for cooking, warming, or recreation, burning within an ACCEPTABLY constructed fire pit or appliance, with a spark-arresting screen, no more than 1 meter in diameter and 24 inches in height, built on a non-combustible surface.

No burning of any kind for any reason with winds above 15km/hr. No burning without an acceptable extinguishing method immediately at hand. No further fire permits for any open fire under bylaw will be issued. Current permits issued may be suspended or cancelled at any time.
