County Fire Services Welcomes New Deputy Fire Chief
In a swearing-in ceremony held in Council Chambers at the Lac Ste. Anne Administration Office, Fire Chief Randy Schroeder proudly swore in the department's new Deputy Fire Chief, Brent Sanderson. Conducted at the Regular Meeting of Council, this event was attended by County Council, Administration, staff, department personnel, and community supporters. The ceremony is a time-honoured tradition for fire services personnel across the nation.
Chief Schroeder began the ceremony with a few heartfelt words highlighting the momentousness of the occasion.
The addition of the position of the Deputy Fire Chief for Lac Ste. Anne County represents a significant contribution to the support of Fire Services personnel through to the service of our ratepayers. It enhances public safety and is an essential role. Swearing in the individual to the County's mission galvanizes the importance of his role to the public. A short ceremony to highlight this binds the County and the individual to fulfilling the job and the mission of the Fire Service.
The ceremony concluded with the administration of the oath. Chief Schroeder and Deputy Reeve Nick Gelych led Sanderson in reciting the oath, formally instating him as the Deputy Fire Chief of Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services. The event was met with applause and congratulations from all in attendance.
Following the ceremony Deputy Reeve Gelych commented "Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for our Fire Services. I am excited about the future and the opportunities ahead with Brent Sanderson as Deputy Fire Chief."
Deputy Fire Chief Sanderson expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for his new role, committing to upholding the responsibilities and values of the department.
