Councillor Q&A: An Evening of Conversation, Connection, and Insight
Open dialogue highlights Council’s commitment to community connection
Residents had the opportunity to connect directly with members of County Council during a recent Q&A Night at Gunn Community Hall hosted by Barry Voltner – Division 1 Councillor, Mike Derksen – Division 2 Councillor, and Dale Johnson – Deputy Reeve & Division 3 Councillor. The event brought all seven Elected Officials and Administration Staff together for an evening of open dialogue, updates, and direct engagement with the public.
The Q&A Night provided an informal and welcoming environment for residents to meet their elected official, ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about current municipal initiatives and priorities. Community members engaged in thoughtful conversations on a variety of topics important to them, including assessment & taxation and aggregate development.
Council expressed appreciation for the great turnout and meaningful dialogue throughout the evening.
“This was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from residents and have open conversations about the issues that matter most to our community,“ said Reeve Jurgen Preugschas. “We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend, ask questions, and share their perspectives.”
Attendees were encouraged to speak one-on-one with members of Council, discuss municipal projects and services, and provide comments and suggestions in a collaborative setting focused on transparency and community connection.
The County thanks all residents who attended and contributed to the success of the event. The positive feedback and strong level of engagement demonstrated the community’s continued interest in local government and civic participation.
Additional Q&A Nights will be scheduled throughout the year, with details on the next session to be announced in the coming months. Residents are encouraged to watch the County website and social media channels for upcoming dates and opportunities to participate.
