Key Items on the Agenda

Council Business

  • Council reviewed and adopted meeting minutes from the December 4, 2025 Governance & Priorities Meeting.

Public Input

  • During the Public Input Session, local ratepayer Mark Wagner spoke directly to Council regarding residential tax incentives.

Operations

  • Council received the Operations Monthly Report.

Presentations

  • Heidelberg Materials presentation by Dale Soetaert, Land Manager Sustainable Resource Development, Heidelberg Materials regarding aggregate operation in Lac Ste. Anne County.
  • Council heard Rural Alberta Sport Association representatives Lisa Grant, Kavis Reed, and Bruce Williams speak to a potential venture within Lac Ste. Anne County.

Assessment & Taxation

  • Administration presented information regarding Residential Tax Incentives. Council deferred a decision, directing the department to review all relevant policies and bylaws, then revisit the topic at a future meeting.
  • Council accepted the discussion of proposed Property Tax Penalty Policy and directed that the proposed policy be brought to January 23, 2026, County Council Meeting for consideration and approval.

Finance

  • Council and Administration have scheduled five Budget Meeting dates up until late March 2026.

Community Engagement

  • Administration brought forward a discussion on disabling comments on County social media posts. Council directed Administration to amend the Policy 03-070-001 Social Media Policy to include disabling of comments and bring back to a future Regular Council Meeting for consideration and approval.

Bylaws & Policies

  • Council directed Administration to revise Policy 03-050-014 Purchasing and Tendering, as discussed and return amended policy to a future Regular Council meeting for consideration and approval.
  • Council directed Administration to revise Bylaw 32-2015, Chief Administrative Officer as discussed, with an updated bylaw to be presented for consideration and approval at a future Regular Council meeting.
