With the June 30 Property Tax Payment Deadline quickly approaching, the County is reminding residents to plan ahead.

Canada Post is experiencing national service delays due to an ongoing overtime ban and labour negotiations.

While mail is still moving, delivery times have been notably slower across the country, including here in our community. This slowdown may affect the timely delivery of the 2025 Property Tax & Assessment Notices or subsequent payments sent by mail.

Please note that the County’s Property Tax & Assessment Notices were mailed Thursday, May 8 and are deemed received after 7 days.

To avoid potential late penalties, residents are encouraged to use alternate payment methods such as online banking, online via the County's secure payment gateway, or in-person at the County Administration Office– including an after-hours drop box (cheques or money orders only). If you’ve recently mailed a payment or are awaiting your tax notice, please contact the County to confirm receipt or request digital copies.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to adapt to this service disruption. As always, our goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to meet the June 30 deadline without added stress or delays.

If you have questions or need support with your property taxes, please contact the County Administration Office. We’re here to help!

Ongoing Communications

The County is committed to keeping residents informed and will continue to monitor developments closely. We stand in solidarity with our community members who may be affected and encourage open dialogue to ensure the needs of residents continue to be met.

For further information regarding the strike, please visit the Canada Post Website.

We remain hopeful for a prompt resolution and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
