Do you have Arrears Outstanding from 2023 or Prior Years Property Taxes? The County hereby notifies ratepayers that the payment deadline for arrears and penalties owing is December 31, 2024.

Due to the Canada Post strike disrupting mail service, the County was unable to mail out Property Tax Arrears Reminders as regularly scheduled for mailing at the beginning of December.

The outstanding arrears must be paid by the deadline to avoid tax sale proceedings/further penalties. Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act, the County will proceed with the tax recovery process for all properties with arrears outstanding after the deadline, no matter how small the amount. These properties will be turned over to a property tax arrears recovery management firm and their fees and disbursements will be added to the roll including any fees and penalties.

The County offers the following options to receive your arrears notification during the mail service disruption:

  1. Call the County Administration Office directly to inquire about your outstanding balance.
  2. Stop by in person during regular business hours for a printed copy.
  3. Receive your arrears notice via email. (Submit a request using the email button below.)

Whether calling, emailing, or stopping by please have ready — your full name, address, and Roll/Account number to expedite processing.

Unsure if this applies to you? Please contact the County’s Assessment & Taxation department. Our staff are happy to assist you.

Methods of Payment
Pay in person at the County Administration Office by:
Cash | Cheque | Interac | Credit Card

The County offers the convenient option of making secure online payments (with applicable third-party fees) via OptionPay.
