It’s not every day that a community gets to celebrate an 85th birthday — a remarkable milestone that represents a lifetime of memories, experiences, and contributions.
Mrs. Eileen DeSchepper, a long-time resident of the Rich Valley area and valued member of our community, recently celebrated her 85th birthday, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers at a surprise party held at Rich Valley Community Hall. Turning 85 is a testament to resilience, strength, and a well lived life, and it offers an opportunity for the community to reflect on the importance of the generations who helped shape the place we call home.
“Milestones like this remind us of the history, wisdom, and sense of community that long-time residents bring,” said Deputy Reeve Dale Johnson. “We are grateful for Eileen and the role she has played in this community over the years.” Councillor Johnson was on hand at the celebration and presented DeSchepper with a plaque on behalf of the County in acknowledgement of this special occasion.

Lac Ste. Anne Council and Administration join the Deputy Reeve in wishing Eileen continued health, happiness, and joy in the year ahead. We are honoured to celebrate this occasion and to recognize a resident whose life story is a part of our shared community story.
