Decorated Planters Brighten Winter Landscape

With our relatively short summers, gardeners look for ways to extend the seasons for our landscapes. At the County office all summer long we enjoyed the beautiful new flower planters.

The colourful containers were overflowing with lantana, rudbeckia, and bright petunias.

In November we transformed the summer planters with winter designs. Theresa Utri of Beyond the Blue Sky provided the creative inspiration. Theresa also led a Winter Planter Workshop at the County building, using locally collected plant material along with special evergreens from the George Pegg Garden.

Plans are under way for a new season of horticultural classes in 2019. Contact Horticulturist Lorraine Taylor at This email address is being protected from spambots.
