County Residents Can Register in Advance to Vote
New for 2025, County residents may register in advance to vote in the upcoming October 20 Municipal Election.
Due to recent changes to the Local Authorities Elections Act, the County is required to use a registered voter list. This change is designed to simplify the election process and create a smoother, more efficient voting experience.
“Registering ahead of time will make voting much easier,” says the County’s Returning Officer Reanne Springer. “However it is not mandatory, so anyone who hasn’t registered in advance will be able to do so at the polling station before voting—as in past election years.”
Eligible voters can register online at voterlink.ab.ca or by calling 780-427-7191 (or toll-free at 310-0000, then dial 780-427-7191).
VoterLink is the same platform used for provincial election voter registration. Many voters may already be on the list from a past provincial election, but it’s important to verify or update your information if needed.
