Lac Ste. Anne Parkland MLA Shane Getson recently hosted Premier Kenney on a tour of some resilient local businesses in the Lac Ste. Anne area - or "God's Country," as Getson affectionately refers to the region.
One of the stops along the tour was the Pas Cattle Company just northeast of Rochfort Bridge, where Getson and Kenney met 12-year-old Dirk Pas and his prize 4-H steer - affectionately named after Premier Kenney. A self-aclaimed proud Albertan and farm boy, Dirk was thrilled to meet Premier Kenney and show off the result of his hard work at the 4H Beef Club. MLA Getson remarked that Dirk's gesture was an ultimate expression of thanks to our Premier for all that he is doing for our province.
The tour also included great local businesses including family-run Mo Jo Garden Centre and Diner; heavy-equipment dealer JAPA Machinery Group, and Synergy Aviation - an innovative aviation services start-up that's growing despite the province's economic sluggishness and COVID-related setbacks.
"There are visible signs of hope here, and I think in many places across Alberta," remarked Premier Kenney during the tour. "As we turn our sights toward economic recovery, it's uplifting to see the optimism, hard work, and dedication from small businesses and entrepreneurs who are determined to see us through this challenging time. It's that Alberta spirit of enterprise and innovation that I know will have us coming out of this stronger than ever."
