Lac Ste. Anne County is an Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS) Community. The County's ALUS team is looking for producers on active farms (livestock and/or crop) to participate in a program that helps sustain agriculture, wildlife and natural spaces.
Through the ALUS program, funding is available to farmers to establish new environmental initiatives on marginal/environmentally significant land to enhance upland, riparian and wetland areas. Projects may include:
- Watering systems
- Native prairie establishment
- Pollinator habitat
- Multi-row shelterbelts
- Riparian enhancement
- Wetland creation and restoration
Visit the ALUS Section of the County website to learn more about these opportunities. For more information about the Lac Ste. Anne ALUS program, please contact ALUS Coordinator Megan Casey at 780.785.3411 (toll-free 1.866.880.5722) or ALUS (@) LSAC.ca.
