Wildfires Bordering Lac Ste. Anne County

As of Tuesday, May 2, 2023, these wildfires, specifically the Yellowhead County fire, are not expected to impact lands within our borders. To ensure that LSAC is proactive should the situation change, an Alert Status has been established for our Emergency Management and Fire Services Teams.

What does this mean for you? LSAC is:

All six (6) LSAC Fire Stations are at a heightened alert status with over 40 Firefighting personnel available and ready at the drop of the emergency Tones. Over the past week, LSAC firefighters have been monitoring and actioning one fire located at Twp Rd 540 in the area of Lakewood Estates. These dedicated people are at the ready for any calls requiring their assistance within our borders, and to support our Mutual Aid partners where needed.

We would like to thank our residents for their continued diligence in preventing hazardous conditions by being vigilant and following the Fire Ban and ATV/UTV Ban currently in place. Since the implementation of these Bans, there have been limited emergency responses required. We encourage you to continue to be ever vigilant and cautious when it comes to the potential for wildfires.

Please be prepared for the possibility that this could change very quickly.  How can you be prepared? Here are some things to consider putting into place today:

We also remind our residents that Environment Canada has issued a Poor Air Quality Statement for the region. Take all necessary precautions to protect your health and that of your family.
