Lac Ste. Anne County has updated its 2021 municipal general election results following a recount of ballots for Division 6 candidates. The recount was performed on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
As a result of this recount, nine ballots were rejected due to their failure to meet all requirements of the Local Authorities Election Act. The net change to the number of votes cast for the four candidates account for eight of the rejected ballots. There was one rejected Division 6 ballot in the pre-recount unofficial results.
Candidate Harvey W. Hagman conceded to Ross Bohnet following the recount, issuing the following statement:
“I wish to congratulate Ross Bohnet on his successful campaign. The voters have spoken, and I feel confident that Ross will do his best to represent Division 6 — and advocate for all communities within our County. I wish Councillor Bohnet every success in tackling the challenges and seizing the opportunities before us. My sincere thanks goes out to those who supported my recent campaign for a seat on Council.
I will continue to do my part as an informed and involved member of our County, and encourage all residents of Division 6 to work with Ross in the same spirit of collaboration.”
