Lac Ste. Anne County has issued a media release to provide an update regarding the status of Administration Building structure issues. Click Here to view and download the official media release in PDF format.
Upon moving into the Administration Building in the fall of 2017, slab heaving and drywall cracking were observed. These issues were investigated by Professional Engineers and determined to be caused by swelling of high plastic clay that the building is situated on.
Following this assessment, recommendations to regrade and redirect surface water were implemented, and the slab heaving appeared to have stabilized. However, despite these remediation measures, the building has experienced an exacerbation of the problems.
As the resolution process with the appropriate parties may require legal proceedings, the County is limited in the information that can be shared until such issues and/or proceedings are resolved. As such, County Council and Administration are not presently able to respond to any information requests pertaining to the outstanding issues with the Administration Building.
The County will make every effort to provide updates on the situation, as approved by its legal advisors.
Lac Ste. Anne County ratepayers are thanked for their understanding and cooperation regarding this matter.
