Wayfinder’s new proppant facility injects jobs and revenue into County.
On Thursday March 7, County Council had an opportunity to tour the new Wayfinder proppant management facility located near Glenevis. Dubbed the Big Molly Project (named after company mascot Molly in the foreground of the photo), this operation is involved in the mining, drying and transportation of sand vital for hydraulic fracturing operations. Big Molly is anticipated to be fully operational by late May of this year.
About 40 full-time jobs were created during Big Molly’s construction phase, and an additional 50 full-time positions will be required once operations begin. In addition to a business tax contribution, approximately $125,000 per year in royalty taxes is anticipated. Wayfinder also supports and works in tandem with local businesses, including restaurants and hotels; fuel & water haulers; earthwork specialists; sand trucking firms; and trades such as welders, millwrights and mechanics.
Council is extremely pleased with the relationship it has begun to forge with this exceptional corporate citizen, and looks forward to the regional job creation that this project will create. Kindly join us in welcoming Wayfinder to the County. More information about Wayfinder can be found at www.wayfindercorp.com .
