Pursuant to the provisions of Section 639 of the Municipal Government Act, the Council of Lac Ste. Anne County is considering an application for amendment to Land Use Bylaw 22-2017, to establish zoning regulations relating to Micro Cannabis production within the County’s Agricultural land use districts.

The County will also host the hearing via Zoom (a free online videoconferencing platform) to facilitate the option of remote attendance and/or presentation. Prior to the hearing, County administrators will log attendance, and will confirm and schedule attendees who plan to present.

If you plan to attend the April 8 public hearing either remotely or in person, please take a moment to review the gathering guidelines and videoconference instructions below.

"OK, so what this fancy language means is that someone has applied to the County to modify the existing Land use Bylaw to allow for small-scale cannabis production on agricultural land. This notice lets folks know about when and where the Public Hearing will take place to discuss this request."

Attending the Hearing in Person

Lac Ste. Anne County is currently listed in an ENHANCED zone as designated by AHS. As such, the County is limited in the number of people who can attend the county office.

In consideration of provincial COVID-19 indoor gathering restrictions restrictions (as of November 20, 2020), Council chambers can accommodate up to 25 seated attendees without masks in a socially distanced layout. If more than 25 people attend the hearing, masks must be worn by everyone within the Council Chambers. A maximum capacity of 50 attendees will be allowed inside Council chambers.

If you plan on attending the meeting in person, please be prepared to wear a mask and practice all standard COVID-19 social distancing protocols. These protocols are clearly posted at the County administration office. Further information can also be found in the COVID-19 section of the County website.
