Wednesday, May 15: Experience Essentials Workshop

What does it take to turn a product or an activity into a memorable and remarkable experience? If you’re ready to raise the bar on your visitor experience and meet the growing demand for more immersive, local and authentic experiences, Travel Alberta’s new Experience Essentials workshop can help.

This introductory session explores the fundamental elements of experience development and shows you where opportunities exist to grow your business, enhance your competitive appeal and respond to what travellers are looking for. In this full-day session you’ll be introduced to experience examples, learn through group and individual exercises, and receive a comprehensive workbook to spark new ideas now and in the future.

WILD Alberta is partnering with Travel Alberta and the George Pegg Botanic Garden to host this workshop for tourism operators. The session will introduce a new experience that includes time in the garden. Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather.

Thursday, May 30: Plant Swap & Learn

Sangudo Public Library | Drop-in from 2 to 5pm. Perennial plant propagation session at 3:00 pm.

The end of May is a great time to look at your flower beds to see where you can tuck in a few more plants. Join us in the library to swap some plants. Do you have a few too many vegetable transplants? Did you divide your hostas and have plenty to share? Put them in a pot, add a label, and bring them along to swap. At 3:00pm join us for a 30-minute session with County Horticulturist Lorraine Taylor to learn about Herbaceous Perennial Propagation- There are so many ways to make several plants from one. See a demonstration of different ways to multiply your perennials by division, root and stem cuttings, layering, and more.
