The County seeks Seasonal Vegetation Management Technicians. This is a seasonal position for approximately 16 weeks, from May 4 to approximately August 28, 2026. 

Key Requirements

The responsibilities to be undertaken by this individual are as follows:

  • Operate various types of herbicide application equipment; 
  • Operate truck and trailer units;
  • Properly handle, measure, and mix herbicides;
  • Basic service and maintenance of pesticide application equipment;
  • Keep detailed records of all vegetation management activities;
  • Communicate effectively with ratepayers within the County;
  • Actively participate in the Lac Ste. Anne County Health and Safety Program.

Training is provided for all of the above tasks, as required.

Qualifications     

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License must provide a driver’s abstract upon request;
  • Physically fit, with ability to comfortably lift 25 kg;
  • Familiar with, or the ability to learn the operation of, GPS and computer use;
  • Familiar with, or ability to learn, the operation of ATV/UTV;
  • Ability to identify, or learn identification of, legislated weeds;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the public;
  • Priority will be given to post-secondary students in agricultural or environmental sciences related programs;
  • Pesticide Applicator license is an asset.
  • Agricultural background is an asset.

Term: May 4 – August 28, 2026 approx. 16 Weeks 
Start date: May 4, 2026

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
