Seasonal Agronomics Inspectors
The County seeks Seasonal Agronomics Inspectors. This is a seasonal position for approximately 16 weeks from May 4 to approximately August 28, 2026.
Key Requirements
The responsibilities to be undertaken by this individual are as follows:
- Conduct inspections under the authority of Alberta's Weed Control Act, and Agricultural Pests Act;
- Create and maintain accurate records for all activity and inspections;
- Conduct crop and field inspections for insects, pests, and diseases;
- Keep detailed records of activities;
- Communicate effectively with ratepayers within the County;
- Actively participate in the Lac Ste. Anne County Health and Safety Program.
Training is provided for all of the above tasks, as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License must provide a driver’s abstract upon request;
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public;
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to operate County equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
- Able to complete routine maintenance and servicing on equipment and vehicles;
- Familiar with GPS, and computer use, or the ability to learn the operation of this equipment;
- Familiar with legislated pests, weeds, and disease, or the ability to learn their identification;
- Knowledge of the Agricultural Pests Act and the Weed Control Act is considered an asset;
- Exhibits initiative and good judgement to produce quality results and complete duties with minimal supervision.
Term: May 4 – August 28, 2026 approx. 16 Weeks
Start date: May 4, 2026
Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.
