Snowplowing Program

Snow Management Options for Private Property Owners

Under the seasonal snowplowing program, all property owners within Lac Ste. Anne County may request help from the County to clear snow from their private driveways. There are just a few rules to consider beforehand.

To participate in the snowplowing program, you must purchase a snowplow flag in advance from one of the locations indicated below. The cost is $25 per flag, per clearing, and covers snowplowing from the County road to your residence only.

One flag will be used each time you request snow removal. For snowplowing services with no flag (call in), the cost will be $40 per call. Pre-payment is required for this service.

PLEASE NOTE: your approach and driveway must be a minimum of 22 feet wide with no obstacles, and have a clearance of 18 feet high with no overhanging trees or wires. Otherwise, the County grader(s) will NOT clear your driveway.

Additional clearing and/or custom snowplowing requirements can be requested through the Public Works Department at the County office. Those requests will cost $80 per hour with a minimum charge of one hour. Pre-payment is required for this service.

After a major snowstorm, opening of roads takes approximately three days, so driveway plowing will not normally occur until the fourth day or later. Other arrangements should be made if you require your driveway plowed sooner than that.
