The Government of Alberta has released a mobile app to help campers and other outdoor enthusiasts stay on top of fire bans and restrictions. Available for iOS and Android, the Alberta Fire Bans app allows users to see where current fire bans are in the province and what restrictions and advisories are in place so they can plan outdoor activities accordingly.
Available for iOS and Android, the Alberta Fire Bans application is intended to provide the public with quick access for fire bans in the province. Keeping people informed of fire bans across the province will help people plan their summer activities safely, whether in their backyards or in Alberta’s parks and natural areas, while reducing the risk of wildfire. I encourage you all to download the app and make yourself aware of its features and benefits as we begin to roll it out for this current wildfire season.
Please note: as a part of the government’s open data portal, there is currently another Alberta fire bans application available to download.
