Successes to Celebrate

Economic Development

Promoting Lac Ste. Anne County as a location of choice for people, investment & business, the Economic Development department delivers services and initiatives focused on showcasing the region and helping local businesses prosper.

The budget process was also modified to better focus on zero-based budget practices and service level consideration, and includes a public engagement element for budget planning.

Onoway Regional Medical Clinic

In January of 2017, Lac Ste. Anne County along with five other municipalities took the step to preserve the Onoway Regional Medical Clinic, the only medical clinic in the east end of the County. This process did come with some technical challenges however we persevered to overcome them. Along with preserving the clinic, we also helped to recruit another doctor, bringing the total physicians at the clinic to three.

Economic Development Advisory Committee

The Economic Development department worked with Council to redesign the Economic Development Committee in late 2014. This process led to the creation of the Economic Development Advisory Committee, a business leader led group that supports Council in identifying the growth strategy that will be implemented in the County. The Committee has examined a number of ways to promote the County as a great place for families, for business opportunities and for travel tourism.

Tradeshow Attendance

We've made great strides in becoming more engaged in events. We have attended travel/tourism shows, youth expos, and job fairs. Some events were one day events and others were three day events. The events help promote our great County as an employer, as a travel tourism destination, as a place to build a business and as a home.

Travel Guide

In 2017, a travel guide was developed for Lac Ste. Anne County and the region. The development of the guide was used for promotion at our tradeshows and sent out to visitor information centers too. The guide highlighted for potential visitors, and residents, the fact that Lac Ste. Anne County is a travel tourism destination and that the County has a lot to offer.
